When something unexpected happens, it is all too easy to panic.
We understand the uncertainty, fear, and isolation an unplanned pregnancy can cause, and our goal from the beginning was to help women facing that situation.
Women worry about all kinds of life changes related to pregnancy, especially when unintentional:
- How will this pregnancy impact my relationships? (Friends, baby’s father, parents?)
- How will this pregnancy impact my future plans?
- How will this pregnancy impact my resources, how will I afford to live?
Connect offers “Decision-Making Services” which provides a tool to help the woman access her core self: what she believes to be true and what she ultimately desires for herself. The tool, when paired with a compassionate, nonjudgmental encounter with a nurse, distills out the pressure from others, the fears that may or may not be realistic, and helps the woman gain clarity about her pregnancy and her options.
Like Ann shares in the video above, circumstances can change and with hard work and faith, even something like an unplanned pregnancy can turn out to be good. The tool helps a woman see a future that aligns with her truest self in the light, not just the one fear paints for her in the dark.
If you or someone you know is facing an unplanned pregnancy, there is help. You are not alone. Our nurses are here to walk with you as you make an informed choice about your pregnancy.
