I am concerned I might have been exposed to an STI/STD. What do you test for?

We offer a comprehensive STI panel that includes testing for Human Immunodeficency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis C (HCV), Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis. For women, the panel also includes tests for Bacterial Vaginosis and Trichomoniasis. Depending on your symptoms, additional STI tests may be performed as needed.

Some results will be available during your appointment, and you will be notified by phone with the remaining results, which typically takes 3-5 days. If an infection is detected, treatment will be provided as needed. However, HIV and HCV are not treated directly at our clinic. We will assist with referrals and assistance in coordinating care as needed.

Testing for sexually transmitted infections and annual wellness exams can include obtaining blood samples. It is helpful to come hydrated! We also have snacks to help with any feelings of lightheadedness. In any case, you always have the option to decline an intervention or service.

What community services can you share or refer to?

Connect Medical values collaboration and community partnerships. We believe in relational-based care and connecting our patients with their community. We have ongoing relationships many organizations, including but not limited to WIC, Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center, Behaviorial Health and Human Services, Women Empowering Women, Women’s Way, various adoption services, and our local OB providers.

I am pregnant and looking for prenatal care and establishing with an OB Doctor, is this an option at Connect Medical Clinic?

At Connect, we provide Early Pregnancy Evaluations, which include initial pregnancy testing and limited early OB ultrasound services up to 24 weeks gestation, as appropriate. After the first trimester, we will refer you to a local OB to continue your prenatal care. Decision-making services are available if a woman is unsure what options are available for her pregnancy. We do not provide ongoing prenatal care; instead, we offer referrals to local OB doctors. Education and support can be ongoing at Connect through our ConnectED program.

My daughter is having really difficult monthly symptoms, is there something at Connect that may help with this?

At Connect Medical Clinic, we focus on menstrual cycle care. Tracking your cycle helps you identify ovulation, which is an important sign of your overall health. By tracking your cycle, you can lead a healthier lifestyle, spot hormonal imbalances, and plan for families naturally.

If you are experiencing cycle discomfort at any age, you can get help at Connect Medical. While period problems are common, they aren’t normal. Our team is here to support you! Our providers are committed to holistic reproductive care. We do not prescribe or refer for hormonal contraceptives. Instead, we aim to restore balance by addressing the root causes of dysfunction.

Is Connect affiliated with a church or denomination, or belong to a franchise?

Connect Medical is an independent, faith-based nonprofit clinic. The care you’ll receive is informed by the faith held by our staff and board of directors. Simply put, we believe everyone deserves to be nurtured and cherished, and there is a plan and purpose for all human life – because humans were created in God’s image. There is no pressure for our patients to agree and we have options for faith to be included in care – or not. We are committed to radical hospitality and dignity-centered, non-judgmental care because we believe that is what you deserve.

I just gave my first donation. How do you spend the gift?

In 2024, over 75% of the annual expenses were dedicated to patient services, and the facility was expanded to serve more patients. Thirteen percent was spent on administration and five percent on fundraising.

Do you prescribe birth control or emergency contraception?

Due to the operational structure of our clinic, there are a number of services that are outside of our scope of practice, including prescribing or referring for contraception. We do offer birth control education and decision-making services. We know there are a multitude of options available for women and men desiring to avoid the conception of a child. Our medical care team helps women and men consider their values around contraception and medically evaluate the risks and benefits of each method. An evidence-based linear decision-tool is utilized so women and men are able to move forward with confidence.

Do you prescribe abortion pills or referrals for abortion services?

Guided by our faith and values, we do not provide or refer for abortion services. We offer early pregnancy evaluations with decision-making services for those who are unsure about their pregnancy options. We believe every women deserves support and clarity when making choices for her health and pregnancy.
