The Connection Point

Restoration and Safety

When we don a purple ribbon, we are standing in a sacred space. Domestic violence victims often feel their dignity has been diminished, possibly paired with less hope and faith in a better future. However, at Connect, we cultivate an environment that communicates that every person created in God’s image is worthy of restoration. Respecting life during Domestic Violence Awareness Month means:

  • Creating safe spaces where survivors can find care without judgment.
  • Listening, believing, and walking alongside, rather than rushing or pushing.
  • Offering practical help and medical care to begin and aid the journey of healing.
  • Pointing toward hope—that broken cycles can end, and new stories can be written.

This October, as we recognize both Respect Life Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we invite you to:

  • Pray for survivors and families in our community.
  • Learn the signs of domestic abuse so you can be a safe person for someone in need.
  • Support the work of DVRCC and Connect as we come alongside families in crisis with compassion and dignity.

Together, we can help restore safety and hope—because every life deserves to be nurtured and cherished.
