The Connection Point

Pink Equals Purpose

This October, things are turning pink around the clinic. Pink ribbons. Pink gloves. Pink T-shirts. You will see it everywhere: communities mobilize to protect and care for our mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends impacted by breast cancer.

But behind the pink is a deeper story—a story of life, dignity, and hope.

One morning, María (name changed) walked into our clinic with fear. She felt a painful lump in her breast, and she was uncertain what it meant. Her mind ran through worst-case scenarios. She found our clinic through Connect’s outreach into the foreign-born community, and when she stepped through the doors, she knew she was not alone. Our NP helped her get a timely ultrasound, connected her with support systems, sat with her as she wept, and prayed with her through the waiting. Her diagnosis came—with challenges—but through that path, she discovered care that saw her as more than a body. Today, María is not defined by disease but embraced in her humanity.

Because stories like María’s are not uncommon, it is likely you have been touched by a similar story.

We invite you to put on your pink and walk with Connect in reaching women in need of their annual wellness exams.

  • Reflect: What would it look like if our community responded to cancer diagnosis not just with treatment, but with relational care, prayer, and presence?

  • Invite: Do you know someone navigating a breast health concern? Share this post. Offer your presence. Encourage them to lean into holistic care.

  • Act: Partner with us this October. Help us raise funds to help women access preventative and wellness care!
