The Connection Point

October: A Month Dedicated to Respecting Life

Every October, our calendars fill with important causes and awareness efforts. Breast Cancer Awareness. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance. Domestic Violence Awareness. Mental Health Screening, to name a few!

What unites all of these observances is a simple truth: life deserves respect.

That’s why October is also recognized as Respect Life Month.

But what does it mean to “respect life”? At its core, it means choosing honor and care. It’s saying every person has worth—not because of what they do, but because of who they are. It unites us as humans because we all feel the value of life at a core level and show it in everyday norms. It’s the instinctive arm a mother throws across the car seat and the dad who fills the tires before any road trip. It’s the stranger who stops to hold the door, the community that surrounds a grieving family, or the friend who shows up when loss feels too heavy to bear.

Respecting life is not an abstract idea, it’s a personal, everyday thread that ties all of October’s awareness efforts together.

At Connect Medical Clinic, this is our daily mission. We walk alongside individuals and families with holistic, dignity-centered care. With the help of our community of supporters, we extend radical hospitality, practical help, and hope to those who need it most.

This October, as you see the pink ribbons, the purple lights, the memorial candles, and the calls to mental health, let them remind you of one thing: every life matters.

And if you are able, consider investing in the work of Connect Medical Clinic. Your support allows compassionate, holistic care that builds a stronger, more hopeful community today and for generations to come.
